THIS MONTH'S FEATURED WORK
An ordinary and extraordinary moment. Students sometimes get stuck or overwhelmed, frozen and not making progress with a task--the moment when understanding a text or insight for solving a particular problem does not arrive. Here, this student has closed her books and her notes. The disarray of her papers and books shows she's not reading. Just staring, lost in her thoughts or perhaps something else more concerning. Her fingers are tense. I don't know better or less analytical prose than this: academic struggle, anxiety, or tension. The prose is painted here in
